These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MyTax Professional Services website (mytax.ca) and the accounting, tax preparation, bookkeeping, and financial advisory services we provide. By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services Description
MyTax Professional Services provides accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, payroll management, and financial advisory services to individuals and businesses in Mississauga, Ontario, and surrounding areas. All services are performed by qualified professionals in accordance with CPA Ontario standards and applicable Canadian tax legislation.
2. Client Responsibilities
By engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and timely information and documentation necessary for us to perform our services
- Disclose all relevant financial information, income sources, and material facts
- Review all documents and returns prepared by us before filing and notify us of any errors or concerns
- Maintain proper records and documentation as required by the CRA
- Pay for services in a timely manner as outlined in your engagement letter
- Comply with all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations
3. Engagement & Fees
All professional engagements are governed by a separate engagement letter that outlines the scope of services, fees, and payment terms. Fees are based on the complexity and scope of work and will be communicated before services commence. We reserve the right to adjust fees with reasonable notice. Outstanding balances beyond 30 days may be subject to interest charges and suspension of services.
4. Confidentiality
We maintain strict confidentiality of all client information in accordance with CPA Ontario professional standards, PIPEDA, and applicable privacy legislation. Client information will not be disclosed to third parties without your written consent, except where required by law, regulation, or professional standards. 5. Professional Standards
All services are provided in accordance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), and CPA Ontario professional standards. Our team adheres to the CPA Code of Professional Conduct and maintains all required professional designations and continuing education.
6. Limitation of Liability
Our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim. MyTax is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. We are not responsible for penalties, interest, or reassessments resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client. We are not responsible for changes in tax law that occur after the date of filing.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the MyTax website — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of MyTax Professional Services and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate the professional engagement with reasonable written notice. Upon termination, all fees for services rendered to date become immediately due. We will return all original client documents upon request and maintain copies as required by professional standards and legal obligations.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Ontario, with the venue being the Regional Municipality of Peel.
